"Oh my GAWD!" Haylee screamed.

"Did you ever think we'd be here?" Liz asked.

"Not in a MILLION years," Haylee shook her head and a smile of sheer bliss crossed her face as she stared at all three members of Hanson from their position backstage, "but I always hoped..."

Liz nodded.

"Wow! You guys are awesome!" Ike was saying into the microphone with a dorky grin on his face.

"This last song," Taylor said, pushing the left side of his hair behind his ear and smiling breathlessly. His face glistened with sweat and his cheeks glowed a pink color from jumping up and down behind his kayboard for the past 20 minutes, "is for two very special people. Thanks you guys." He actually LOOKED at Liz and Haylee offstage and nodded in a gesture of gratitude. "You really saved the day today. Couldn't have done it without you."

Liz screamed. Haylee's eyes almost came out of her head and went rolling down her cheeks on. On the first note, the girls knew what song it was. They hugged each other and jumped up and down, squealing. When they stopped, they just stared in silence and swayed from side to side along with the notes coming from Taylor's keyboard.

They sang along with Taylor as he opened his mouth and poured out soulfully, "When you have no light to guide you... and no one to walk beside you... I will come to you, oh, I will come to you..."

Liz smiled. She raised her face to the ceiling and closed her eyes, taking in the greatest moment of her life thus far.

Her moment of reverie was interrupted by Haylee's frantic whisper. "Liz! Look!"

Liz followed Haylee's pointing finger toward the top of the backstage area on the other side. A young girl about their age was crawling up the ladder to the platform near one of the rows of stage lights.

"You don't think..." Haylee let the partial sentence hang unfinished in the air.
